What Is ILMU Claw?
ILMU Claw is a token plan launched by YTL AI Labs on 21 April 2026. It gives you access to AI models (called ILMU-Nemo-Nano and Nemo-Super, developed with NVIDIA) that are hosted entirely in Malaysia on YTL AI Cloud.
In plain terms: instead of sending your data to servers in the US or Europe to process your AI requests, ILMU Claw processes everything locally on Malaysian infrastructure. Your data never leaves the country.
ILMU Claw Is Not a Competitor to OpenClaw
This is the part that confuses people the most, so let's be clear:
- OpenClaw is the open-source agent framework — it's the software that runs your AI assistant, connects to your WhatsApp, manages your tasks, and responds to your messages.
- ILMU Claw is the engine that powers it — specifically, the Malaysian-hosted AI model that OpenClaw calls when it needs to think.
Think of it like this: OpenClaw is the car. ILMU Claw is one of the fuel options you can put in the tank. You can still run OpenClaw on other fuels (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.), but ILMU Claw gives you a Malaysian option if data residency matters to you.
YTL's own press release says it directly:

They're building on top of OpenClaw, not competing with it.
How Does the Pricing Work?
ILMU Claw has three tiers:

Important detail: the Free plan must be redeemed before you subscribe to a paid plan. If you go straight to Starter or Pro, you lose the free tokens.
Tokens are metered based on the Nano model. If you use the more powerful Nemo-Super model, each request uses 3× the tokens. So 1 Super token = 3 Nano tokens.
